Welcome to Southern California School Assemblies. This site is dedicated to offering help and information for schools looking for school assembly options.
School assemblies have become an important resource for school looking to supplement a dwindling academic curriculum. With standardized testing, reduced educational schedules and limited budgets, schools often turn to their PTA or PTO organizations to pick up the slack.
Fortunately for today's PTA / PTO organizers there are plenty of options to available at their disposal. Whether the school assembly being scheduled is to award a group of students for great behavior or to bring in additional perspectives on an academic subject, there is no shortage of programs to choose from. When considering a presenter, you will want to make sure that the presenter has liability insurance that meets or exceeds the requirements of your school district. You will also want to obtain references or at the least a list of previous schools he/she has worked at. You should establish what outcomes you wish to achieve with the presentation and make sure those outcomes match what the presenter is offering. You will also want to make sure that the program being presented is age appropriate for the groups the presenter will be working with. A bullying assembly should be presented differently for younger age audiences then what would be presented for older students. Likewise is the program accessible for all students including special needs audiences if you have them at your school.
Once you have a date for your school assembly in mind, you will want to get word out to your parents as soon as possible. You will need volunteers for the day so the sooner they know the date and times you will need their help the better. It is much better to promote your event well in advance than to wait for parents to call you up and say "What can I do to help."
School assemblies can be fun, educational and enlightening and with proper planning, a great experience for everyone.

p.s. While looking at your assembly dates/times make sure you block your facility usage out on the master calendar of your school and be sure to allow for setup and take down time for your presenter. Check out Incredible Southern California school assemblies for additional ideas and tips.
